REGEA is founded by four regional governments in 2008, under the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe programme. Its objectives are to promote, encourage and support the regional sustainable development in the fields of energy, mobility, environmental and climate protection.
The Agency has been a coordinator and participant in numerous international and national projects, while its scope of work also includes the preparation of strategic and planning documents for the public authoritiess. Currently, the agency participates in more than 30 ongoing EU projects, including those of EIT Urban Mobility. Currently, the Agency is coordinating the implementation of REAL RIS, an EIT UM funded project revolving around a summer school "Co-creation for Innovation". Since 2021 REGEA is acting as a coordinator of EIT Urban Mobility RIS Hub Croatia, through which is implementing education and networking activities, working on urban mobility Living Labs establishment, developing new business models for e-mobility services and creating a network of partners representing all parts of urban mobility ecosystem.
The Agency also coordinated EIT Climate KIC Hub in Croatia, with the objectives to achieve healthy and sustainable life in cities, resilience of regions and net-zero economies. REGEA coordinates the national New European Bauhaus platform in Croatia and is the manager of Bračak Acceleration Centre.
It is a member of FEDARENE, the premier European network of regional and local organisations which implement, co-ordinate and facilitate energy and environment policies. REGEA is an active member of CIVINET Network Slovenia- Croatia- SEE. It will coordinate the implementation of ChargeUp Summer School.
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) is a leading research and higher education institution in the fields of electrical engineering, computing, and information and communication technology in the region. FER hosts several research centers and laboratories focusing on cutting-edge research in electrical engineering and computing. These centers collaborate with international institutions and industry partners, such as Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Končar Group, and Rimac. Currently, FER is active in 189 projects, with 112 financed from national funds and 72 international projects funded by HORIZON, ERASMUS+, EDF, and INTERREG 2021-2027, etc.
Studies at FER are designed to deepen students' expertise and prepare them for advanced careers in research, academia, and industry with more than 600 enrolled students enrolled in the first year. FER organizes a Job Fair that brings together leading technology experts and curious students with the aim of meeting, connecting, and exchanging experiences.
FER organized the AIoTwin Summer School, which brought together participants from academia to share ideas and learn about the latest advances at the intersection of AI and IoT and Breaking the Surface - International Interdisciplinary Field Workshop of Maritime Robotics and Applications workshop which encourages interaction and the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of maritime robotics and its applications, is organized every year. FER is a part of EIT Urban mobility RIS Hub Croatia.
